Services

Everything we design for tobacco.

Tobacco is the most restricted consumer category there is, which means the brand, the packaging, and the retail presence carry the entire load. Every piece below is built as one connected system, and any of it can be picked up on its own.

Tobacco brand strategy and identity

The position, the mark, and the system that holds it together as the line grows.

  • Brand strategy and positioning
  • Logo design
  • Logo lockups and variations
  • Visual identity systems
  • Brand architecture
  • Typography systems
  • Art direction
  • Brand guidelines
  • Rebranding and refresh
  • Custom illustration

Tobacco packaging and label design

Packaging designed around the warnings and disclosures the panel already has to carry.

  • Packaging design
  • Label design
  • Warning and disclosure layout design
  • Pouch and tin design
  • Carton and multipack design
  • Secondary packaging design
  • Foil, emboss, and finish direction
  • Dielines and print-ready files
  • Limited edition packaging design
  • Retail-ready packaging design

Website design and digital

Sites and digital assets that hold up under age gates and platform limits and still look like the brand.

  • Website design
  • Age gate design
  • Landing page design
  • UI design support
  • Email design and templates
  • Content creation
  • Digital ad design
  • Digital asset rollouts
  • B2B and sales portal design
  • SEO and AI discoverability

Campaigns and launches

Everything that takes a product to market and keeps it consistent across every channel while it gets there.

  • Product launch campaigns
  • Limited release campaigns
  • Multi-channel campaign design
  • Advertising design systems
  • Promotional creative
  • Motion design direction
  • Social media design systems
  • Campaign toolkits and templates
  • Campaign expansion
  • Launch planning

Retail, POS, and trade

The physical touchpoints, which is where most brands stop paying attention and where the sale happens.

  • Point of sale design
  • Retail display design
  • Shelf talker design
  • Merchandising design
  • Trade show booth design
  • Event and experiential graphics
  • Sell sheet and one-pager design
  • Catalog and collateral design

  • Ongoing packaging and web design
  • Brand evolution and expansion
  • Sales and retail support materials
  • Embedded creative collaboration

How the work goes

How a tobacco brand gets built.

Three things decide whether a tobacco brand holds together: how the packaging handles the mandatory copy, where the brand competes when advertising is closed, and whether the system survives the next rule change.

The warning is not the package

Tobacco packaging carries mandatory warnings, disclosures, and format rules that most designers have never had to work around, and the pressure only increases.

We design so the requirements are part of the first layout instead of a panel bolted on at the end. Your regulatory team makes the final call. We design so nothing has to be rebuilt when they do.

Where it competes

With consumer advertising largely closed, the shelf and the trade relationship do the work. That means packaging that holds up under fluorescent light, retail and merchandising design, and the sell sheets and catalogs that get a buyer to stock it.

It also means a site that is findable, because search is one of the few open channels left in this category.

Built to survive a rule change

Requirements in this category move. A brand built as a set of one-off files has to be redrawn every time they do, and a brand built as a system does not.

We design the packaging as templates with the mandatory areas defined, so a format change is a swap rather than a rebuild, and the brand still looks like itself afterward.

FAQ

Questions we get.

What tobacco categories do you design for?
Pipe tobacco, cigarettes, nicotine pouches, and vapor, plus the retail and trade materials around them. Cigars have their own dedicated practice.
Do you design around warning labels?
Yes. Mandatory warnings, disclosures, and format requirements are part of the first layout rather than something added at the end. Your regulatory team makes the final call.
Can you build a tobacco brand from scratch?
Yes. Strategy, identity, packaging, website, and retail creative, concept to completion, and the approach scales to the brand and the budget.
Do you design trade and B2B materials?
Yes. Sell sheets, catalogs, dealer materials, and trade show creative are a large part of the work in this category.
Do you design age-gated websites?
Yes. Age verification is designed into the site from the first wireframe rather than added at the end.
Do you work on retainer?
Yes. Monthly retainers and set-term partnerships for new releases, packaging updates, campaigns, and ongoing support.

In their words

Don't take our word for it.

Hellbeing is a creative and strategic powerhouse, headed by a competent operator who is as powerful a creative mind as she is a strategist.

Room101

I've worked with Hellbeing's founder for over a decade, and what sets them apart is their ability to combine business strategy with exceptional creative work. They played an important role in the growth of both Caldwell and Lost & Found through brand strategy, product development, marketing, and identifying opportunities that moved both companies forward. They consistently see the bigger picture and know how to cut through the noise to focus on what actually matters.

Robert Caldwell

Caldwell Cigar Co.

Hellbeing is much more than a creative agency. They bring a rare combination of branding, marketing, business strategy, and execution that has helped us strengthen our brand and uncover new opportunities for growth. They don't just ask what something should look like. They ask why it matters, who it's for, and how it supports the bigger picture. That level of strategic thinking has made them a valuable partner for Luxury Cigar Club.

I've had the pleasure of working with Hellbeing and the owner Jaclyn on a wide range of projects over the years, from designing our association's website to creating event logos, brochures, and countless marketing pieces. They consistently deliver creative work that exceeds expectations. Jaclyn is responsive, thoughtful, and always finds a way to bring ideas to life while making the process feel effortless. I know I can count on her to do great work, meet deadlines, and care about the final product as much as I do. They've been a valuable creative partner that I'd recommend without hesitation.

Working with Hellbeing has been one of the best moves we made for our brand. They took on our website and understood exactly what we wanted without us having to over-explain it. The design work is top tier, communication is fast, and they treat your brand like it is their own. They also know how to work inside categories that come with heavy restrictions, which most agencies cannot handle. Highly recommend.
