Uprooted

Building the visual identity for a documentary series on California’s complicated road to legal cannabis.

Uprooted is a documentary series about California’s complicated road to legal cannabis, from the first medical law in 1996 to the regulatory system that followed adult-use legalization in 2016.

Built to carry the story, not crowd it.

Uprooted ended up with one visual identity that held across print, digital, promotional, and the web, so every episode and every asset read as part of the same series. The design stayed consistent without ever competing with the people on screen.

01   Complete visual identity across the full series

02   Website built to host and promote the content

03   Key art, posters, and promotional assets developed
